Program Details
The American Institute of Kenpo has several programs that allow people of all ages to learn Kenpo. In all classes students will have instructing staff dedicated to teaching the required material at their age appropriate level. All students can attend as many as 2 in person classes a week during the regular scheduled class times.
Youth Kenpo Program
Ages: 4 to 7
Required Class: 2/Week
This program teaches basic concepts of discipline, fair play, and personal safety in a setting full of fun and challenging activities. Emphasis is placed on reinforcing the good habits for both exercise and behavior. The students are given a simplified understanding of Kenpo skills that they can build upon as they move through the program.
Junior Kenpo Program
Ages: 7 to 14
Required Class: 1/Week
Recommended: 2/Week
This program is intended to give a solid immersion in self-defense as contained in the Kenpo style. Opportunities for mock combat through sparring are provided in a setting that stresses safety as the most important factor. While working on personal development, students will learn life values such as integrity, courage, and discipline.
Senior Kenpo Program
Ages: 14 and up
Required Class: 1/Week
Recommended: 2/Week
Each rank level contains self-defense techniques, required forms (Sets & Katas), and routines for the development of Kenpo skills. Opportunities for sparring are provided in a safe and controlled environment. Modern and practical adaptations of the Kenpo style are taught and studied to help students better prepare to defend themselves.
