Instructor Bio

Jeremy Rose started training at the age of five with Andrew Pilch who was running a school for the American Kenpo Karate Academy. Mr. Rose has always been a very capable and intelligent individual. As with so many youth that have the abilities to excel, Mr. Rose was known to push boundaries. When Mr. Rose was in high school, his abilities were harnessed and turned to a productive path by bringing him in to the instructing staff. It was obvious that Mr. Rose fell in love with teaching from day one.

By the time he had graduated from high school, he was teaching after school programs for local middle and elementary charter schools in Tucson. At 19, Mr. Rose was hired as a full time Kenpo Karate teacher for a charter school as part of their Physical Education program. Mr. Rose grew up playing sports and has carried that along as well, becoming the dodgeball and basketball coach for the school he teaches at. Even to this day, Mr. Rose continues to develop his teaching abilities becoming one of the best mentors a martial arts student could ask for. His vast knowledge of the system and approachable demeanor has made him a great advisor to any student or other instructor looking to understand martial arts concepts at a deeper level. Throughout his instructor years, and especially as a Program Director, Mr. Rose has been instrumental by assisting in the refinement and editing of the AIK curriculum.

Mr. Rose has been active in the advanced sparring classes since he was a teenager and continues to learn and excel at boxing, kickboxing, jiu-jitsu, and MMA. His competitive nature coupled with his ability to assimilate new information makes him a valuable and extremely challenging training partner for anyone looking for a beneficial sparring partner.

In 2020 Mr. Kalos began coaching advanced sparring alongside Mr. Rose and Mr. Pilch, where they strive to help students apply their fundamentals in a tactical, effective way.

Mr. Rose was all but raised in Mr. Pilch’s school and the American Institute of Kenpo is proud to have such an amazing individual be a part of our Kenpo family.
