Pre-Thought Questions

These questions are given to candidates to reflect on before the black belt test.

2nd° Senior Black Belt

1. Why different levels of Black Belt?

  • Why do we have multiple ranks of Black Belt instead of stopping at the first one?

  • What do the higher levels represent?

2. What continues to grow?

  • What keeps developing in a person through years of continued training after earning a Black Belt?

3. Kenpo as a lifelong practice?

  • How can Kenpo training continue to serve a Black Belt throughout their entire life — not just while they’re actively training, testing, or competing?

4. Learning by watching others?
