Attack
The Ideal attack requires your opponent be in front of you. Starting from a right fighting stance, your opponent steps forward as he executes a left straight punch toward your face.
Defense Pattern
1. Right Step Forward toward 12:00 into a Right Neutral Bow Stance and execute a Right Inward Parry to the outside of your opponent's left punch followed by a Left Outward Parry to the outside of your opponent's left punch.
2. Continuing to circle your right arm counterclockwise and deliver a Right Outward Back Knuckle to your opponent's left lower ribcage.
3. Left Gauging Step toward 3:00 into a Right Front Twist Stance (facing 9:00) as you execute a Left Inward Heel Palm to the left side of your opponent's face. Right Positional Check to your opponent’s left kidney.
4. Pivot into a Right Neutral Bow Stance (facing 9:00) as you deliver a Right Thrusting Outward Knife Hand to the left side of your opponent's neck then Grab their face with a Right Outward Claw.
5. Left Gauging Step toward 9:00 then immediately deliver a Right Front Scoop Kick to your opponent's groin (from behind). Left Heel Palm Thrust toward your opponent's left shoulder with a Right Ripping Claw to your opponent’s face.
6. Plant Back toward 3:00 into a Left Neutral Bow Stance.
7. Pivot into a Left Forward Bow Stance (facing 9:00) as you deliver a Right Vertical Punch to the opponent's kidney or spine.
8. Perform a Left Front Crossover and Cover Out toward 3:00.
Alternate Names
Though there are similarities between techniques named here the techniques taught in the different branches of the Kenpo family also have notable differences.
We know that each school presents information with a different style and signature that is uniquely associated with their staff and students. Always defer to the instructing staff at your school for guidance should there be any differences in the information being presented.
