Avoiding: Moving back to left rear quadrant


Restraints: Hold from the back

Attack

The Ideal attack requires your opponent be positioned to your rear. He steps forward with his left leg, grabs your belt with his left hand, and pulls you toward him.

Defense Pattern

1. Right Step Back toward 7:30 into a Right Rear Twist Stance and deliver a Right Back Hammer Fist to your opponent's groin.


2. Pivot clockwise into a Right Forward Bow Stance (facing 6:00). Deliver a Left Inward Horizontal Heel Palm to the right side of your opponent's jaw and a Right Right Back Elbow to your opponent's left forearm.


3. Deliver a Right Lifting Forearm to the right side of your opponent's jaw then immediately a Grab your opponent’s neck with a Vice Like Grip, using the left forearm on the right side of your opponent’s neck and the left forearm on the right side of your opponent’s neck.


4. Deliver a Left Knee to your opponent's groin.


5. Plant towards 3:00 and deliver a Right Knee to your opponent's right inner thigh.


6. Plant towards 3:00 into a Right Neutral Bow Stance and deliver a Right Horizontal Inward Elbow to left side of your opponent's jaw.


7. Perform a Right Front Crossover and Cover Out toward 9:00.

Alternate Names

Though there are similarities between techniques named here the techniques taught in the different branches of the Kenpo family also have notable differences.


We know that each school presents information with a different style and signature that is uniquely associated with their staff and students. Always defer to the instructing staff at your school for guidance should there be any differences in the information being presented.
