AIK Mission Statement
The
American Institute
of
Kenpo is an
organization dedicated
to the development of
character, confidence,
physical well-being, and
internal peace through
the medium of the art of
self-defense.
Ours is a professional
Black Belt Organization,
which means we extend
the invitation to each
student to realize his
or her own goal of
achieving Black Belt
Excellence. We are
committed to maintaining
the integrity and legacy
of
American Kenpo as
developed by Senior
Grandmaster Ed Parker;
nevertheless, we
encourage each student
to travel the path of
self-discovery as he or
she internalizes the
principles of Kenpo.
In the world of
martial arts, it
is hard to tell who
possess the passion,
knowledge and driving
force to influence
people in the right way.
One who has a moral and
ethical structure plus a
professional presence
and training to rise
above the normal; as
well as the ability to
teach the true essence
of self defense for
today’s environment.
I feel that Shawn
Knight is just that type
of person. The
martial arts
community would benefit
greatly to have more
people like Shawn in it
and I would greatly
recommend to people who
are on the journey of
the martial arts to seek
his training.
